We share the love for anything nautical, and are going sailing for 3 days while we're in Hawaii. Hello adventures!

Insipred by the fabric, and day dreaming about whats to come, I made this little cute embroidered piece :)

Thinking and planning, and thinking about this trip oh so much lately has made me super inspired. I think I have a new obsession. Whales and sailboats. I can't get enough!

I spent hours browsing Etsy yesterday for cuteness, and I just wanted to share some of the goodies I came acroos.

big Etsy update!

Wow, it must be at least a million and one years since I updated, well both the blog and the Etsy shop!

My mom came to visit for the very first time, and stayed for a whole 16 days. It was a never ending craft party, it was so refreshing to spend some quality time with my mom, and also have a break from work.
So with that said, I have a big Etsy Shop update, 11pm CST tonight. Lots of pretty summer aprons, pot holders, pillows, gocco print, and even some baby items. Cute!

Lots more in the shop so make sure you stop by <3

It was so great having my mom here, I love having people from back home visit, it's like I get to relive my first time in the states all over again. She was so stoked to go to Joanns, which we spent 4 hours at the first time I took here there, yes we had to go back. Also she found it very amusing how many TV commercials are all about food, food and more food. Also how huge portions here are. HAHA. Oh yes. Everything is bigger in the US.

Other than crafting in KC, and chilling in the park, we took a trip to NYC, I always forget how crazy the city is, and everytime I go, as much as I love it. I am grateful to not call it home. I think I am good for another 3 years or so.

We stayed at Paramount hotel, which is right in times square, nuts, but oh so fun! Probably the best looking hotel I ever stayed at, talk about amazing. I wish i would have gotten a picture of the lobby, wow.

We stopped by shoe store after shoe store, which I think is mandatory if you are in NYC, H&M, which I <3, B&J Fabrics, wow..I am speechless. Oh fabric heaven. Imagine every single fabric you could ever dream of, yes, they have it. And Tinsel Trading, possibly one of the cutest stores I've ever been to. Wow. What a great selection of anything cute!

If you wanna see more pictures from her stay, check out my flickr.

I finally started, and finished a quilt I bought fabric for in 2008. So happy with the end result! I will definitely be making more of these!

It was really sad to say goodbye to my mom, especially not knowing when I'll see her, or the rest of my family and friends back in Norway again.

Theres been some big changes in my life lately, some great ones, and I am happier than ever. Last month i reconnected with the most amazing boy ever. Josh and I met 5 years ago, and well, long story short we had a thing going but it never developed into anything serious due to us living in different cities and so on. We lost touch for awhile, and when decided to drop him an email in early may, we immediatly hit it off again. He's the boy of my dreams, and I am so happy we are finally giving this a real shot. So here he is, Josh. The best boy ever.

So yeah, big changes are happening, and even bigger ones to come. I'll share the happy news later <3

Hope you are all staying cool in heat, and having a great week!

PS! tomorrow I am halfway to 50. yikes!

orlando

I can honestly say I met more amazing people in the last week, than I did all last year. Orlando, you blow my mind.

I hungout with friends, went to the beach, ate some amazing vegetarian food, hungout with new friends, danced at oldies night, got hollered at by random creeps, and some cute boys, laughed so hard my face hurt for 2 days, and stayed up way too late. Oh vacation <3

I wish I had more pictures, seriously, I am terrible at this. Why why why.
I did however make it a goal to spend $100 on photobooth pictures in one night, although I did fail, I met some amazing people while trying so hard to do it.

I just thought it was a good idea, and a great way to spend a hundred dollar bill.

I kinda wish they had more photobooths here in KC.

My hand is healing up good, I'm having a weird reaction to the red, this hasn't happened to me since I was 18, so weird. But hopefully it'll turn out good. I got some really sweet compliments on it, and people seem to freak out more about a girl having hand tattoos. Hm.
It was a challenge trying to keep it out of water, let's say It didn't go as planned, and I might have dipped it in the ocean a few times. Ooops. Shame on me.

I am so jealous that I don't have cute little baby lizards in my back yard, OK, maybe they are just little, and not actual babies, regardless, they were cute.
I wanted to keep it so bad <3

Also, Jayme and I went hunting for Fred Perry, and Betsey Johnson. True story.

I was so sad to leave, and come home to this. RAIN.

On another note, I am looking into getting a MacBook, and I can't really decide between the ever so beautiful MacBook Air, or just the MacBook. They pretty much have the same features, so do I really wanna spend another $1000 just for the way it looks? Hm. I need help, any tips?

<3 Have a great weekend!

tattoo overload

First off, I am the worst blogger ever.
Life is just really busy, and work, even busier.

My dearest Shaun, is back, after spending 4 months in South Africa. Lucky man. And I am so ready to get tattooed. I've been wanting to get my legs tattooed forever, but won't trust anyone, but Shaun to do it, so I've been waiting patiently <3

We did my left leg about 2 weeks ago, a sewing machine, roses, needle and thread, for my mom <3 It took a little longer than 6 hours, and I didn't come prepared at all. I didn't eat, SHAME on me and I was super tired. It was really painful, and the fact that I was starving by the time we started, made it even worse. I was zombie-fied by the time we were done, and went straight home, and passed out in bed.

For my appointment on tuesday, I ate a huge meal, brought snacks, and even stuff to knit, best idea ever actually! It took just as long as my other leg, but the hours flew by. So awesome! And the finished product, well, Shaun, you never let me down. Ever <3 I am so, so happy. My dad has worked on oil rigs ever since I can remember, and that's what I got for him. Haha, it's so great!

I've been wanting to get my hand(s) tattooed for awhile now, so I called my mom for a second opinion, and I must say I was a little surprised when she actually said, go for it! haha. My mom is the best <3
So Shaun is doing my left hand on Monday night, I can't wait!!!

I haven't had much time for craft stuff lately, not even knitting. I started a sweater for my dad a few days ago, but I haven't been knitting that much at work, so it's going by pretty slow. Oh well. I have all the time in the world to finish it. O well, at least till August :p

It's been a million years since I scrapped anything, other than not having any time, I also haven't been taking any pictures. So lame, I know. That will change next week though, I am going somewhere fun, not telling yet. It's a secret...shhh <3

Happy weekend <3

can of corn, the old fashioned way.

It's been a long week, with minimal sleep, and I wish I could say it was due to some extreme craftyness, but it's not. Bummer.
Last wednesday night I had to take little Cupcake to the MedVet, it was late in the AM, and he had been weak all day, didn't want to play, eat, nothing. I noticed his eye was looking red, and he was squinting. So better safe than sorry right. We got to see an opthamologist, and she was amazing.
Cupcake is a brave little man, and sits perfectly still for me to drop little eyedrops in is eyes 10 times a day, and not only one, but 8 different ones.

Fingers crossed the meds work, he has some scarring, that have grown halfway through his cornea, and if it goes all the way, my little stinker might loose his eye. We are going back for another check up tomorrow. I can only hope for the best.

It's been busy at work, it feels like forever ago since I knitted anything!
The weather has been really nice the last week! St. Patrics day was insane, it was so hot, and of course I got sunburnt, I am actually just now starting to look somewhat normal again! hah!
We watched the parade from the roof of the tattoo shop, and I got to snap one picture, and my camera died. I wasn't prepared for that at all!

I watched the parade, and while everyone and their mom went to the bar, I went home and planted some zinnia flowers, calendula flowers, strawberries, raspberries, sweet carrots, sweet corn, jalapeno peppers and tomatoes in my yard. Oh yes :) ...and worked on my sunburn some more. Ouch.

And what's better way to cool you off than a frozen smoothie!
I made this delciousness with a handful frozen strawberries, handful frozen mangoes, and some orange juice. It made enough for two of these tall glasses! YUM! :)

This week is my mom is turning 49, and I finally got her presents wrapped, and ready to ship, I think I am more excited than her! haha...or maybe not :) I hope she likes the knitted goods :)

An old friend who I missed so much, found my blog, and it's been a great last couple days, late night conversations. Hopefully we can hangout sometime soon! Isn't she gorgeous!!

We wanna do a photoshoot together. It would be so hot! :)
She works for M.A.C, and 4 or so years ago she sent me some cute little samples to try, and ever since I've been hooked on their products, thanks Jayme <3

So I figured I would share my collection of pigments, I love them oh so much!

Today I spent my day off, running a million earrands, I organized some stuff around the house, I baked bread, and had tacos for dinner. I actually had to open a can of corn today with a knife and a hammer. Oh yes. It took about 15 minutes. I should have been sitting around a camp fire, wearing chaps.
Note to self, buy a can opener!

Now I am gonna try and see if I have enough yarn to knit something other than baby owls, and slippers, and finish The Chronicles of Narnia, price caspian :)
